Title: Strengthening Relationships By Creating Positive Anchors and Collapsing Negative Anchors
Often, we find ourselves frustrated with relationships that we once found rewarding.
Over time, more than likely, we learned to associate negative interactions with this person to their actual self, not to their external behavior. Depending on our perspective, we can find ourselves resenting the person and the relationship.
When positive interactions can be anchored and negative anchors collapsed, it becomes possible to maintain or even improve the relationship with the person and separate them from their behavior.
This technique can work with any type of relationship: friend, child, parent, spouse, romantic partner.
In this brief demonstration w techniques will be demonstrated. 1.) Parent/child and 2.) romantic partners
Application: Be able to:
Define a positive anchor
Define a negative anchor
Develop an effective anchor specific to the relationship type that needs to be changed
Develop a procedure to collapse negative anchor(s) in the parenting relationship
Develop a procedure to establish a positive anchor in the parenting relationship
Develop a procedure to collapse negative anchor(s) in a romantic relationship
Develop a procedure to establish a positive anchor(s) in a romantic relationship
