Title: Lions & Tigers & Bears: a technique for conditioning for playfulness
Key concept: You’ve just helped someone overcome a bad habit, fear or phobia…congratulations. So, now what? That person still has years (maybe decades) of experience responding negatively in those situations. Wouldn’t it be great if your client could experience those situations with maximum resourcefulness…even a sense of fun and playfulness?
When you introduce them to Lions & Tigers & Bears, they can!
Lions & Tigers & Bears is a short process that uses neo-Ericksonian storytelling, corny animal jokes, and scatological humor to reframe your client’s responses in formerly-problematic situations. Where they once felt fear or anxiety, now they can experience fun and playfulness in those situations as they learn new ways of understanding the reality of those situations and their responses to it. And it only takes five minutes.
Anyone who practices hypnosis can use this process to help your clients experience new, positive responses in their lives. No previous experience with Ericksonian hypnosis nor NLP is require to take full advantage of this fun process for change and growth.
Participants will receive a PDF of a transcript of Lions & Tigers & Bears in the context of eliminating a phobia, which can be adapted easily to any context in which you wish to use it.
Application: Participants will be able to implement storytelling in the context of hypnosis/hypnotherapy.
Participants will be able to help their clients create new behaviors using the Lions & Tigers & Bears technique.
Participants will be able to explain basic storytelling principles and utilize them to create their own stories for change.
